A Calendar of Intentions

Let us pray in the month of August for labor and provision. O God, you have called us to be co-workers with you in your creation. Bless all who labor, and provide for the needs of all your people. May our work be done to your glory, and may we find rest and satisfaction in you. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Let us pray in the month of September for a spiritual harvest. God of all abundance, as we see the harvests gathered in the fields around us, we pray that you would cultivate in us the fruits of the Spirit. Grow in us love, joy, and peace, that our lives may yield a harvest for your glory. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Let us pray in the month of October for the saints and for our service. Almighty God, we give you thanks for the glorious company of all your saints. Inspire us by their witness to live lives of faithful service, and help us to see and honor the saints who walk among us today. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Let us pray in the month of November for gratitude and remembrance. Gracious God, we give you thanks for the blessings of this year. For life and health, for family and friends, for the beauty of creation and the love that surrounds us. Fill our hearts with gratitude and help us to be mindful of your constant presence in our lives. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Let us pray in the month of December for hopeful preparation. Almighty God, give us grace to cast away the works of darkness, and put on the armor of light, now in the time of this mortal life in which your Son Jesus Christ came to visit us in great humility; that in the last day, when he shall come again in his glorious majesty to judge both the living and the dead, we may rise to the life immortal. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Let us pray in the month of January for guidance and revelation. O God of unceasing light, who led the Magi to your Son by a star, guide the leaders and people of our diocese. In this season of Epiphany, reveal to us where your light is needed most in the wilderness of our world and in the quiet places of our hearts. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Let us pray in the month of February for preparation and growth. Almighty God, our heavenly Father, who has committed to your Church the care and nurture of your children, bless all who teach and all who learn in our diocese. In this time of quiet preparation, cultivate in them a faith that is resilient and a love that is boundless. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Let us pray in the month of March for creation's renewal. Creator God, who formed the mountains and carved the rivers, we confess that we have not always honored your creation. As we journey through this Lenten desert, lead us to a renewed commitment to cherish and protect the natural wonders of Idaho. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Let us pray in the month of April for resurrection hope. O God of new life, who raised your Son from the dead, we pray for all who are seeking a fresh start in our state. Open our hearts and our doors to them, that in our communities they may find a reflection of your unending love and the joy of your resurrection. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Let us pray in the month of May for empowerment and connection. Come, Holy Spirit, come. As the rivers of Idaho flow and connect the land, so too may you flow through our diocese, uniting us in purpose and empowering us to carry your love and justice to all corners of our state. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Let us pray in the month of June for gratitude and generosity. Gracious God, who provides for all your creatures, we thank you for the bounty of the earth. Bless those who cultivate our food and open our hearts to the needs of our neighbors, that we may be good stewards of your gifts and willing hands in your service. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Let us pray in the month of July for rest and recreation. O God, our refuge and our strength, in this season of summer, lead us to places of quiet and beauty where we can rest in your presence. Renew our spirits and deepen our love for the world you have made. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Let us pray in the month of August for protection and resilience. Lord of all power and might, be with those who face the threat of fire. Protect our homes, our forests, and all your creatures. Fill us with the fire of your Spirit, that we may be agents of your healing and hope in a world that is often fragile and afraid. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Let us pray in the month of September for fellowship and reconciliation. God of community, you have called us to be one body in Christ. Help us to grow in love and understanding for one another. Guide us in the work of reconciliation, that we may heal old wounds and walk together in the way of peace. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Let us pray in the month of October for vocation and service. For all the saints, who from their labors rest, we give you thanks, O God. Inspire us by their example to live lives of faith and service. Show us our own unique calling, that we may be your hands and feet in the world. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Let us pray in the month of November for gratitude and stewardship. Most merciful God, we offer you our thanks for all your goodness and loving-kindness to us and to all people. Fill our hearts with gratitude and guide us in the faithful stewardship of all that you have given us. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
